Jikiden Reiki®

Jikiden Reiki represents traditional, authentic, Japanese Reiki that has been practiced in Japan for decades. Founder Mikao Usui discovered 'Shin Shin Kaizen Usui Reiki Ryoho'  in 1922.

Just before he passed away, mr. Usui trained more than 20 Shihans, this is how teachers are called in Jikiden Reiki as well. One of them was Dr. Chujiro Hayashi,

Thanks to him, Reiki became known in the West because he travelled from Japan to Hawaii around 1930 at the request of mrs. Hawayo Takata.  He travelled to Hawaii twice to give lectures and Reiki courses to the Japanese community.  We are grateful that mrs. Takata started teaching Reiki in the 1980's so it became well-known in the United States and spread from there to Europe and the rest of the world.

Another one of dr. Hayashi's students practiced Reiki her entire life in Japan, from her 17th until her passing. Mrs. Chiyoko Yamaguchi and her son Tadao Yamaguchi made Reiki accessible for Western students, exactly the way she had learned from Dr. Hayash in 1937.  Frank Arjava Petter, who was trained in Western Reiki and lived in Japan in the 1990's, connected with the Yamaguchis and learned Jikiden from mrs. Yamaguchi herself. Thanks to him we got to know Jikiden Reiki in Europe. The Jikiden Reiki Kenkyukai (Jikiden Reiki Institute) based in Kyoto aims to make the pure, simple but very effective Reiki as it was originally practiced, accessible to everyone who wants to learn it and takes responsibility for their own health.

I learned Jikiden Reiki in 2008 in the Netherlands and continued my training to Shihan in 2009 and 2010 in Düsseldorf, Germany.

Jikiden Reiki Healing Session

A Jikiden Reiki session will take 60 minutes. You receive the session over your clothes on the massage table and the focus is on the head and those parts of the body where pain, discomfort or illness are most present.  This session can be applied for anything going on in the body, from dis-ease, pains and aches to stiffness of the muscles or just for well being of the whole body:

-relief of acute and chronic pain

-support relaxation and dissolve muscle tension

-reduce anxiety and depressed feelings.

-support after surgery or operations.

Everyone experiences a Jikiden Reiki session on their own way. You can also choose a combination, a 30mins mental healing before the direct session.

A Jikiden Reiki session never replaces any regular treatment by a medical doctor or medical professional, but it can be a great addition to any regular medical treatment.

Jikiden Reiki Distant Healing

If it is not possible for you to visit me for a direct treatment, I can also give you a remote session. For example,  when you are ill, in hospital, or living abroad or when due to Covid it's advised to keep your distance. There can be many reasons to choose a distant healing session. The Reiki flow and the effects are the same as in a direct session.  You are supposed to sit or lie down when I give Reiki remotelu, so you're present and take part in your own recovery.  The mental healing can also be given remotely.

Jikiden Reiki Mental Healing

A Jikiden Reiki mental healing can be as long as you choose, anything from 20 to 30 mins or more. You can receive the session on the massage table or seated. The focus is on the mental issue or problem you want to work on.  Your willingness to change it, is important and your commitment.  A mental healing can help with anxiety, stress, feeling depressed and addictions and can be scheduled prior to the direct session.  The mental healing can also be given remotely.

A Jikiden Reiki mental healing never replaces any regular treatment by a psychologist/psychiatrist, but can be a great addition to any regular medical therapy.

Jikiden Reiki Shoden Training (2 Days)

(Beginner level, Reiki I)

In Shoden training you will learn the origins of Reiki and the historical background. You'll learn about the history, the founder mr. Mikao Usui and about the Yamaguchi family.

You will learn to feel Byosen and how to distinguish the Byosen levels. Byosen is the feeling you get in your hands during Reiki.  This can vary from warmth to tingling, pulsating and pain. In Jikiden Reiki we work according to the course of the Byosen. You will learn how to apply Reiki for others, for yourself and as first aid with cuts and wounds, burns, fractures and sprains.

You'll learn the first symbol, what it stands for and the exact meaning of the words. What you learn, you immediately practice on your fellow students.

You will receive an English manual and an English certificate after class. Your Japanese, calligraphed certificate will be ordered at the after the training. You'll also receive a pass where all your Jikiden Reiki classes are registered and you take it with you to every next class.

Tweedaagse Jikiden Reiki Okuden Training

(Deeper or middle level, Reiki II)

In Okuden training you will learn Enkaku Reiki, how to give Reiki to people who are not in the same room, but somewhere else, in another city or country.

You will learn about the origins and background of this treatment, you will learn the symbol for Enkaku, its meaning and how to perform this treatment. You practice this immediately on your fellow students.

You'll also learn the mental treatment, the background, the related symbol and the meaning of the words. You'll learn how to  perform the mental healing, how it works in detail and you practice this treatment on your fellow students. Finally, you learn how to perform the mental treatment remotely. You will receive an English certificate afterwards and then the Japanese calligraphy certificate will be ordered for you.
